This course aims to:
- Enable participants to explore responsibilities under the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) 1995 Part 3;
- Review definitions of disability. Gain knowledge of what DDA means by discrimination;
- Identify disabling barriers within current service provision. Develop ideas and strategies for meeting duties under the legislation;
- Participants will play an active part in group work, discussion and games - a challenging and fun three hours.
Tutor: Alison John. Alison is an experienced consultant and disability equality trainer in the field of play, early years and inclusion with personal experience of a 'disabling' world.
Cost: Free to all Bristol-based childcare workers, however a £10 deposit per person (refundable on the day) is required to secure a place; £20 to all others.
Funded by: Bristol Early Years and Childcare Service.
