Venue: BAND Office, The Proving House, Sevier Street, St Werburghs, Bristol, BS2 9LB.
This session involves:
- Reflecting on attitudes towards disability
- Developing an understanding of the Medical and Social models of disability
- Examining the meaning of inclusive play
- Examining the use of language
- Exploring how to create inclusive activities for different settings
- Learning new games and ways of adapting them.
NB: You must be able to attend the whole day - it will not be possible to leave early.
Tutor: Alison John. Alison is an experienced consultant and disability equality trainer in the field of play, early years and inclusion with personal experience of a 'disabling' world.
Cost: Free to all Bristol-based childcare workers, however a £10 deposit per person (refundable on the day) is required to secure a place; £50 to all others.
Funded by: Bristol Early Years and Childcare Service.
