Many of the out of school schemes in Bristol have temporary and permanent vacancies for Playworkers and Playleaders. Playworkers Looking for Work

BAND holds a list of Playworkers looking for work. If you would like to receive a copy of this, or add your name to the list, please contact the office. BAND strongly recommends that all staff should be interviewed and at least two written references taken up, one of which should be from their most recent employer. Evidence of qualifications and proof of identity should also be provided with enhanced CRB disclosures undertaken before they are appointed. Registered childcare settings must run checks on all staff through Ofsted (Helpline: 0845 601 4771).

Current Vacancies

Windmill Hill City Farm Children and Family Services require an Early Years Assistant (1 x maternity cover). Preferred start date: 6th October 2010. This is a part time post in the 2 - 3 year old room: The successful candidate will be required to work Wednesday's and Friday's (15 hours per week). Salary: £13,689 pro rata. Qualification/experience: level 2 in Childcare with a minimum of 1 years experience in an early years setting. The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic, committed, be able to work as part of a team and have knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and child development. Hillfields Young Mothers Group require Creche Workers to start at the beginning of term in September, Monday - Friday, 11,45am - 2.45pm. Creche Assistant to Creche Leader (Term time only) £7.50 per hour for 6 hours per week. We are looking for a candidate who has relevant child care experience/qualifications at NVQ level 2 or equivalent. Those who are able to demonstrate they are currently undertaking training at the level of NVQ or equivalent will also be considered.
Creche Worker (Term time only) £7.25 per hour for 6 hours per week. We are also looking for a candidate to apply for the unqualified creche worker post. The applicant must be able to exhibit they are competent and have broad experience of caring and nurturing children who are under five years old. The applicant must demonstrate they are familiar with the health and safety of children within this age range and have an undertstanding of child protection procedures as well as experience of working in a team.

Bristol Playbus is looking for a Music Playworker
Do you have a passion for music and would like to share this passion with children agaed 8-15 in a drop-in mobile music project. The aim of the project is to engage in a range of music adventures and to support them to host a music show. The sessions will be run from the Play Truck. You will need experience of working with children and a willingnexx to undergo relevant training. 4 hours per week between 2.30-6.30pm, to be arranged. £8.69 per hour. Closing date 10th September. The Girafter School Club, After School and Holiday Play Scheme requires a Play Scheme Manager. The Club Manager is the link between the management committee, the parents and staff. The Manager has overall responsibility for the safety and welfare of children and staff, administration and day to day leadership of the setting. Imayla - Urban - Rural Creative Connections are creating a bank of Sessional Workers to draw upon as needed to work at events which are held in rural venues across the South West.
