Makaton Foundation

Date and Time: Mondays 27th September, 4th, 11th and 18th October, 9.30am - 1.00pm.

Venue: BAND Office, The Proving House, Sevier Street, St Werburghs, Bristol, BS2 9LB.

This foundation course offers certificated training in the practical use of Makaton for Stages 1-4, with additional vocabulary for people working with children with learning difficulties. The aim is to provide communication opportunities for all. NB. Attendees are required to complete all four sessions to obtain their certificate.

Tutor: Helen Hollick. Helen has been a Makaton tutor for over 12 years. She is a speech & language therapist working with pre-school children with complex needs in North & East Bristol. e.

Cost: Free to all Bristol-based childcare workers, however a £10 deposit per person (refundable on the day) is required to secure a place; £130 to all others.
